A 4-day Excursion to Page, Arizona

Updated: Jan 31, 2022

As a part of a 10 day workcation throughout Scottsdale, Flagstaff, Tempe, and Page, I spent 4 days in Page. Overall, it is a super quiet town, and pretty isolated from any major city. We stayed at this Airbnb. I had low expectations of the property, but it completely blew my mind. It’s was comfortable, contemporary, had beautiful views of the landscape, and it was very clear that the owners put a lot of love into the property.

The main reason my friends and I came to Page, was to take the Upper Antelope Canyon tour, which we booked through Ken’s Tours. By the way, the only way to go to Antelope Canyon is to go through one of the touring companies (Ken’s or Dixie’s Tours are the options, and Dixie is Ken's sister). The reason for that is that Antelope Canyon is on private land, owned by Ken Young (according to our tour guide, at least!).

While I was here, I also got a 5 day pass to Fitness Odyssey, for $20. It is easily one of the nicest gyms I have been to. I wasn’t expecting such a big gym in such a small town. It turns out, Ken Young also owns the gym, amongst many other things (Rim View Terrace restaurant, a ranch, etc.).

Anyways, I’ll stop with my babbling! Below are the sights, and restaurants we checked out. I’ll list them in order of how much we liked the places.

Sights we saw-

  • Lower Antelope Canyon Tour - This was about 10 minutes from our Airbnb, so super accessible . We used Ken’s Tour, and saw and learned a lot. We recommend booking ahead of time, since availability is limited due to COVID19.

  • Horseshoe Bend - This was about 20 minutes from our Airbnb. We paid a $10 entry fee, and finished the “trail” or walk, in less than 45 minutes. Amazing views, and highly recommend checking out.

  • Lone Rock - This was about 25 minutes from our Airbnb, and is in Utah. We basically drove up to the coastline. Since the tide was super low, I walked about 10 minutes further to get closer glimpses of Lone Rock.

Enjoy some of the pictures of the sites, below.

Places we ate-

  • Sunset 89 - Our first night we ate at Sunrise 89. The restaurant is tucked away in a really weird and isolated spot, just outside of town. So it may be hard to spot. This is the best restaurant we ate at. I ordered a pretty killer Teriyaki chicken, and roasted Brussels sprouts, and portions were HUGE. Would recommend.

  • Tapatio - We went here another night. It’s supposed to be the best Mexican food in town. Apparently Willem Defoe ate here. None of my group was crazy about the food. We had a mix of Mexican entrees and burritos.

  • State 48 - This had high ratings on Yelp!, but it was definitely our least favorite restaurant. I found the food to be too bland for my taste, but others may like it.

That’s all.
